Hallie's Baptism!

Today was the day that I have been looking forward to for so so long. My sweet little girl got baptized! I had to tell myself to simmer down a bit…it was not ME getting baptized, but this day was so special to me, and I was SO excited for Hallie.
Hallie was a little bit nervous she kept saying. She was also sad because it was overcast, cold, and windy. She said she always pictured her baptism day to be “bright and sunshiny.” I told her about the Baptism song that talks about looking for rainbows and rain and all that, so that she would feel better about the weather.
She had a total of 45 people show up for her special day. We had people from the Wasatch front, Denver, and here in town. She was so cute and shy, just folding her arms and smiling the whole time.
The baptism went great, other than Kayler screaming to get in the “tub” the whole time…lol. The confirmation went perfectly as well. I couldn’t hear as well as I would have liked, because I had Kayler on my lap screaming for candy the whole time, but I could feel the spirit nonetheless.
There was someone noticeably missing from the confirmation circle. My sweet Grandpa had one of his tumors removed yesterday, and he was not feeling well enough to come. I was really sad about that, but I understand. He baptized and confirmed me over 17 years ago. I can distinctly remember hugging him afterwords and just crying-that being the first time that I was touched by the spirit and brought to tears.
Hallie did no hugging…lol. She stiffly walked over to each person in the circle and “let” them hug her…She must take after her mom…I am not a hugging person.
The luncheon went so well. I had to once again simmer myself down. I practically decorated like it was a wedding reception, but I wanted it to be special. So, here I sit-exhausted, but very happy that all went well. I had SO much help with the food, setting up, cleaning up, etc.etc.etc. I am very very lucky to have such wonderful friends and family. Enjoy the pictures!

She looks gorgeous! It looks like it was such a special day. Congratulations to Hallie and to you for doing so much to make it memorable for her. You really went all out! No wonder you've been stressed.

Okay, so now maybe things will slow down and we can get together. (Yeah, right, right?)

I was at the Naples chapel today going the 1st ward and saw your husband and asked him where you were so I could say hi to you in person but I couldn't find you! Maybe next time!

What a special and fun day. I'm glad things went so well. Halle looks so beautiful. I had to laugh when reading that you told yourself to "simmer down" that's something I would do.
