Parties and Plays

We are skipping church today. My family Christmas party is always on a Sunday at 1 p.m. This just happens to be the day. We have several more parties this coming week, and then the next week is Christmas! I can hardly believe it snuck up so fast. Even though stores have been talking about it since October, I have not let myself get too worked up about it. Now I can because there is snow on the ground and I am finished shopping.
The biggest event of the last week was our ward party. The kids got to see Santa:
Yep, I had to sit on Santa so Kayler would sit there…the Santa looked a little scared…lol.

Hallie had her wildest dreams come true when Valerie B. asked her to play the role of Mary in the nativity for our ward party. Gavin got to be a Shepard. He was scared to death. He cried a lot at the practice when he thought nobody was looking. My sweet little nephew Kolby was baby Jesus, except he started to cry during the performance, so we had to replace him with a “surrogate baby Jesus.” It all turned out perfectly! Valerie worked SO hard on it, thanks for asking my kids!!! The meal was delicious, entertainment great, tons of people showed up from our growing ward, and best of all, my dad and mom came to help with Kayler so I really got to enjoy myself for once!

So, Happy Holidays! Be safe in the snow, have fun with your families, friends, neighbors, and truly enjoy this time of year...it doesn't last long enough!

You slacker....when will I get my weekly hello face to face? :) Have fun at your party. I agree with you that play was the cutest thing ever. Your kids did great and I loved every part of it. Great pictures too. Mine wouldn't turn out to save me. Happy Holidays!

Oh my gosh could your kids have been any cuter in that nativity?!! At least you could get Kayler to sit with you, Morgan won't even let us do that, She has to stand across from him and then she'll tell him what she wants, but he can't talk back to HER!

You got better pictures of the Nativity than I did - I may have to have you email me the ones with Madi in them - I was sitting WAY TO FAR in the back! Your Hallie and Gavin did do great!

That is so cute your kids got to dress up and be in the play. We always did that on Christmas Eve when I was little. We (all the girl cousins) fought over who got to be Mary too.

Thanks so much for doing such a great job with your kids. I'm sorry Gavin was so freaked out. I didn't get to see any of it but everyone says how sweet it was. I need to get copies of your pics. Who ever used my camera didn't have a great view. Thanks again;}
