Wednesday I had Bunco at my house. For those of you who don’t know what it is, it is a dice game. It is easy, fun, and sometimes I win way cute prizes! There are 12 fun girls in my group. We eat dinner and snacks and enjoy each other’s company. I have been a part of a couple different groups for the past 5 years, and so after next month I am taking a break for awhile. I feel like a slacker, my parents have had the same group for 19 years, and they are still going strong. Oh well, don’t worry bunco buddies, I will be back!
Thursday night, my mom stayed the night. I don’t think I have blogged about my mom at all. I will dedicate a whole post to her someday. My dad is fishing in
Grandma's "back art" on Hallie's skinny little back!
Friday night we went to the Relay for Life. It seems that cancer is hitting closer and closer to home. My cousin Raema has breast cancer, and just finished treatments, so we went to support her. I took the best pictures of all the luminary bags, fireworks, and ceremony, but of course they won’t work. It is an all night walk-a-thon, but G.J. and the kids left at like 9 and I only walked until 12. Needless to say, my legs were super tired, and I slept like a baby that night.
The kids at the relay for life. (I don't know who the other little girl is, she just snuck in the picture....lol. oh well!)
On Saturday, I attended a funeral for a dear friend who lost her sweet little girl. I was really nervous about going. I hadn’t talked to Liz in such a long time. I do however consider her a great friend and wanted her to know that I love and support her. Along with that, I have a very hard time with death, and I get so emotional and just make a fool of myself. I am really glad I went. Although a lot of tears were shed on my part, and everyone else who was present for that fact, it was a beautiful service, and I left with such a sense of peace.
We finished Saturday off by preparing talks for church today. I have to talk in Sacrament meeting, and Hallie has to talk in Primary.-wish us luck!
I am going to be out of town visiting my brother for the next few days. I hope G.J. enjoys his freedom! Have a great day, and have a great week!

Wow! You have had a busy fun filled few days. I am sad to know I missed the funeral. I was hoping I would be home for that. I ams ure it was extremely emotional. I'm proud of you for supporting the Relay for Life too. It's hard growing up and seeing the reality of all these diseases and tragedies happening to people you know. I guess we just have to always remember that God is in control. Good luck speaking today. Sorry we're going to miss it. Also, thanks for taking care of my flowers. I know that was silly to ask. I appreciated it.
you are always so busy. i would sleep like a baby everynight if I walked in your shoes. hehe. I am glad it all turned out so well. Good luck on your talk although its probably done by now. talk to you soon
The sleepover with your mom looks like so much fun! Your mom was always so fun and silly. I remember you two wrestling over who had to do dishes a few times!
I'm proud of you for going to the funeral. I don't think I could have handled it! I'm glad it was a peaceful service. I just can't even think about it, or I'll cry! Poor Liz!
I wish I could have gone to the Relay for Life this year. I have gone in past years to support my grandma, and this year I know so many more people who have suffered/passed away from cancer.
Anyway, have fun visiting your brother! A few days without the kids? How nice! If you have time & want to meet in the middle of his place and mine, give me a call!
I love reading your blog! You are such a cute mom. I just read your post about G.J. getting his picture with David Archuleta. It made me laugh. Mike's family is in the same ward as the Archuleta's and infact, Mike was David's piano teacher until we moved to Ohio 2 years ago. It is just so weird to hear about stories like that because he was just a regular kid and then all of a sudden he was famous. All of the piano performances on American Idol Mike arranged for him. It was so funny to watch American Idol with Mike because he would be like "I arranged that piece!", "I arranged that piece too!" That would be so weird to grow up and go to church with a family and all of a sudden one of them becomes famous. Mike still thinks it is so weird. He is a very goofy and nice kid though. I remember going to their recitals and David was so shy and he was the best kid there and he would feel so akward when you complimented him. He always felt like he didn't do a good job. I think and hope that he will be very successful but still humble.
Phew... what a busy few days. We were out of town, so I missed the funeral, but wish I could have gone. I am glad to hear that it went well, and you felt peaceful afterward. Hopefully Liz and everyone was able to feel that same peace.
I love the pjs comment-that is so cute!!
Hi Kandice! I just wanted to say thanks for letting me use the post about your grandma and grandpa in my Relief Society lesson. It was perfect. It was also the day the Laurels stayed, so that made it even better.
