One of our very favorite weeks of summer has come and gone. The older my kids get, the more they love County Fair week. Hallie was very involved in 4-H this past year, and so she really looked forward to entering in her projects.
Monday she participated in the table setting contest. She was SO cute…and did so good. That Wednesday she was in the 4-H fashion revue where she modeled her apron and nightgown she had sewn.
Thursday was the day they were really looking forward to. The little red barn, seeing their awards for 4-H, and the carnival. The evening was a full success! Hallie had 7 first place ribbons, a state qualifying nightgown, and won people’s choice for her table setting. Gavin only entered one thing, and he got a first place ribbon too!
Friday we had a great day. We went to our ward campout with my parents in their motor home. It was so relaxing and quiet. Spending the day in the beauty of the mountains, cool breeze, and good food and company.
Saturday we went back to the fair so Hallie and Gavin could participate in the Lego contest. Hallie was STOKED to take first place at that too. She won a $50 gift card that she said she would share with Gavin. We spent the rest of Saturday getting ready for our next adventure….a very spur of the moment family vacation to Denver.
As I type this blog I am reclined in a cushy chair driving with my family and my parents in their motor home to spend the week there. We are really looking forward to lots of fun, so stay tuned!!!
