I went for a walk this morning bright and early (well…like 7:30, which is early for me!) I had been awake since 5 a.m. though with a lingering migraine from yesterday. As I walked I thought of a lot of things. The first was how beautiful it is in Vernal- especially where I live surrounded by all the farms, fields, streams, animals and such. It is especially beautiful early in the morning when everything is peaceful and pleasant. I am very lucky to live here. I just might have to start waking up early every morning to go on a walk-we shall see.
The second thought was what I wouldn’t give to be a kid again. Then I thought…never mind, because kids grow up and have to go through the teenage years and all that….So, I thought how grateful I am that I get to watch how excited my kids get with the fun things that happen in their lives.
I meant to blog yesterday, but I got my chores done in the morning, came down with a killer migraine, and then dealt with the satellite installer from hell all afternoon, evening, and until 9:30 p.m. We finally took the plunge to get satellite after our good ol’ basic cable company got bought out by a local company….-that I won’t name but that I hate- and they raised the rate of basic cable to $90 a month…seriously, how pathetic is that. I would never pay that much a month to watch T.V. Anyways…..this guy creeped me out. Not only was I suffering from a horrific headache, my kids were being very busy, and it was hot, and he would NOT shut up. He told me every single drug he had tried, all about his ex girlfriends (he even creeped me out by saying some looked like me and had the same last name as me…ewww) and then told me that he was just being a satellite guy so he could save up to be a police man. I guess he just needed someone to listen to him... Whatever dude…..
Anyways, moving on. We have a lot of things to look forward to this weekend. When I say we I mainly mean the kids…which means lots of work for me, but it is so worth it. Hallie went to her first slumber party/birthday party. She was SO cute deciding which jammies, pillow, etc. to take. I just love having a girl and how cute she is. Tonight she has a swimming party at the waterslide for her piano lessons. Since our family hasn’t been, and since this is a MUCH cheaper opportunity to go, we are excited. The boys love swimming so we will just pray for good weather since the afternoon/evenings have been so unpredictable around here lately!
I am trying to get our camper packed up yet again for our last family reunion of the summer. We are planning on camping from Thursday to Sunday. My boys love camping so much, and Hallie does too. The kids still have a couple more swimming lessons-which they love more and more each time we go. Friday we have to come home from camping for a few hours because Miss Hallie got invited to a “Mid Summer Party” from her teacher from last year. I thought it was kind of strange, but oh well-props to her teacher for going through so much work! She is so so super excited. It says there will be a treasure hunt, movie, games, root beer floats, popcorn, and prizes. So since I have a baby shower to go to at the same time I told her we would come on down.
After the camping is over-which I hope and pray turns out better than our last camping trip-no broken backs/bones/bug bitten infested diseases…..I think next week is sounding pretty fun too! My friend Janice is coming in from Kentucky. We have a few things planned and her little girl Taylor and Hallie are good buddies so they are having a sleepover. Look how cute they are…this was 2 or 3 years ago:

Oh yeah...didn't I say last week that "things were slowing down for us" hehe, so much for that! Being busy is good though, So until then, happy summer! Only 5 weeks left until school… :(
